Stainless steel can be useful in a kitchen, and creates a modern feel, but there are many cons as well. The pros are: it is tough, impervious to stains and high temperatures, it won't oxidize and develop a patina like other metals, and it does not need to be coated with a finish. The cons are: it shows nicks and scratches, and it needs a solid, firm underlayment or it will dent!

Exotic Woods in the Bathroom
This is a beautiful, as well as unique look for a bathroom. The sinks, bathtub, and cabinetry, are all made from exotic woods like wenge and mahongany that show off wonderful grain patterns. These products are German hand-crafted, and use a curved ship hull construction method.
Wine Cellar
Here's a unique use for glass! This wine cellar is hidden below the kitchen floor, but the use of glass allows you to view the beautiful architecture and wine without wasting any space.

Dark Ceiling Beams
The drama of this space is wonderful, the dark beams are beautifully contrasted by the pure white walls. Ceiling beams are used all of the time; I think it is a great idea to stain, or paint the beams to really stand out and make the space. The wood floors are also a beautiful color and are an in-between tone that softens the harshness of the dark brown, on white.
Rustic Wood Fireplace
I love the rustic look of this fireplace! Usually when we think of fireplace we usually think stone, or marble. The wood and metal that make up with fireplace really change the feel of this room; the materials make it seems very relaxing and romantic.

Stone Bar
I thought this was very appropriate for this week since we are learning about stone! I love the stone stools in the pool; I've never seen anything like if done before. This is a space I would definitely want to hang out at during the summer.

Salvaged Materials Make Barn Doors
I love the look of barn doors, and the space that they save! These wonderful barn doors are crafted from three different materials to include: early 1900's cypress siding (with original green paint), wood from a 100-year-old barn and wrought iron fencing!
Windows Used As Shower Doors
Steel-framed, industrial-style windows can be used in place of a
typical shower door. You can use actual salvaged windows, or have the shower door custom-designed
to look like the rest of the casement windows in the house!

Claw-foot Tub
This Breakfast at Tiffany's inspired sofa is a great way to reuse an old bathtub! Just cut, paint, and polish the edges of the tub, make a cushion, and you have yourself a fun, one of a kind sofa.
